This is a small (2.5in in diameter) but very early Poole Studio pebble vase. It has been thrown and decorated by Guy Sydenham - denoted by the impressed triangle in the base which Guy used to mark his studio vases. The vase is thrown in black clay and then decorated by dripping into a white clay slip for the large circles and pouring on the slip to give the lines.

Its very similar to the pebble vases displayed in the original display of Poole Studio wares in 1961 and probably dates from the same period, making it an important piece.

The base has the inscribed Poole Studio mark and some of the glue from the original label.

The vase is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or other damage.
