This is a rare Poole Freeform vase with an experimental pattern. The vase is shape 709, and is 6 inches tall. The vase has been glazed in Sepia from the Twintone range and then painted in a version of the PJL freeform pattern - while the banding is in lime, the squares are terracotta rather than charcoal.
It was painted by Mary Strainer (Curtis) in either 1955 or 1956.
Experimental freeform vases are very hard to come by and this one is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.
